The Story Behind the Paisley Kiss Clasp Bag — Made by Klaudija

It's finally here!

I've been so excited to share this one with you.

The Paisley Kiss Clasp Bag is my newest creation for Rare Rares, and like every piece I make, it started with an idea, a beautiful fabric and that little feeling that something special could come from putting the right details together.

I'm Klaudija, the creator behind Rare Rares, and I personally design and handmake each bag. For me, creating a bag isn't simply about making something practical. It's about finding beautiful materials, experimenting with shapes and details, and creating something that feels special when you hold it.

The Paisley Kiss Clasp Bag is a perfect example of that.

Why I Created the Paisley Kiss Clasp Bag

I wanted to create something with a distinctly vintage feeling — something feminine, elegant and a little bit unexpected.

I've always loved fabrics and details that have character. The paisley pattern immediately caught my attention, with its beautiful combination of black, cream and gold. I could already picture it as a bag that would bring personality to a simple outfit.

Rather than creating something that follows a passing trend, I wanted to make a piece that feels timeless.

Something you could wear with jeans and a simple top during the day, then take along to dinner or an afternoon gathering without needing to change your whole look.

That was the beginning of the Paisley Kiss Clasp Bag.

How I Made It

Every Rare Rares bag is handmade by me, Klaudija.

I personally take each piece from the initial design idea through to the finished bag. That means I get to be involved in all the little decisions — from choosing the fabric and coordinating the details to constructing the bag and adding those final finishing touches.

There's something I really love about working this way.

When I make a bag by hand, I'm able to slow down and pay attention to the details. I can see how the fabrics work together, adjust the design as I go and make sure the finished piece feels right.

There are no huge production runs behind Rare Rares. Instead, I create pieces individually and in small quantities, which is a big part of what makes each bag feel personal.

The Details I Love Most

The black, cream and gold paisley fabric is what first drew me to this design. It has that beautiful vintage character that makes the bag instantly distinctive.

I paired it with gold floral detailing to bring out the warmth in the pattern without overwhelming it.

Then there's the gold-tone kiss clasp, which is probably my favourite feature. It gives the bag that lovely old-fashioned handbag feeling while also being a beautiful functional detail.

I also added a ruched fabric shoulder strap, which gives the bag a softer, feminine finish.

And although the bag has a compact silhouette, I designed the interior to be practical enough for your everyday essentials.

What Makes This Bag Different?

It has personality

I don't want Rare Rares bags to feel like something you could find anywhere.

I want them to have character — the kind of character that makes someone ask, "Where did you get that bag?"

The Paisley Kiss Clasp Bag definitely has that quality.

It's made by a person, not a production line
